1. Overview

This Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy applies to all reservations made by general visitors to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve.
It ensures clarity, fairness, and alignment with our science-based visitor management model.

Reservations for educational groups, institutional programs, or research visits follow separate agreements.

2. Cancellations Made in Advance

Full Refund — 48 Hours or More Before Your Visit

You will receive a 100% refund when you cancel at least 48 hours before your scheduled entry time.

3. Cancellations Within 48 Hours of Your Visit

No Refund — But You May Reschedule Once

Cancellations made within 48 hours of your scheduled entry time are not eligible for a refund.

However, you may reschedule your visit one single time, subject to availability.
Rebooking cannot guarantee the same date or time slot.

4. No-Show Policy

If you do not arrive for your scheduled activity and do not notify us in advance, this is considered a no-show.
No-shows are not eligible for refund or rescheduling.

5. Weather or Safety-Related Closures

If the Preserve must cancel an activity due to:

  • severe weather
  • unsafe trail conditions
  • force majeure
  • other safety concerns identified by staff

You may choose between:

  • a full refund, or
  • rescheduling your activity for another date (subject to availability)

Visitor safety and forest protection always come first.

6. Visitor Force Majeure Situations

We understand that unexpected events may occur. In exceptional cases such as:

  • verifiable medical emergencies
  • major road closures
  • other validated emergencies

You may request a case-by-case review of your situation.
Submitting evidence does not guarantee a refund, but we promise a fair assessment.

7. How to Cancel or Reschedule

All cancellation or rescheduling requests must be made through:

Requests made via social media or WhatsApp cannot accepted.

8. Processing Time

Refund processing times may vary depending on your bank or card provider.
Most refunds are completed within 5–10 business days.
