Every one of our actions is ruled by principles such as excellence, scientific rigor, transparency and democratic divulgation of information. From within we also have a clear orientation toward teamwork, commitment, communication and ethics.
All these principles translate into a labor mystique that reflects our concern for the environment in every step we take. For this reason the preserve and lodge offer recreational activities that favor conservation and that leave the smallest ecological footprint possible. We have been certified in different ways
to show our commitment with the environment and with sustainable tourism. Since 2008 we have the Galardón de Bandera Azul (Blue Flag Award) in the category of Natural Protected Areas and, a year later, our Lodge received the Certification of Sustainable Tourism. Since then we have maintained said awards and have achieved the maximum categories of the same. We have assumed other touristic initiatives responsible for the code of conduct for protection of children and adolescents from commercial sexual exploitation associated with traveling and tourism in Costa Rica.
Our sustainability policies consider actions such as the prohibition of maintaining captive animals, no feeding of wildlife, the use of biodegradable products in the kitchen, laundry and cosmetics, we have ecological water-heaters, our black waters go to water treatment plants, we use micro-organisms in both black and gray waters in order to accelerate its decomposition, more than 80 % of the light bulbs, showers and buoys are of low consumption and we have a Management Plan for Solid and Liquid Waste. Our commitment is that every action taken has a clear focus on sustainability.
