Sustainability and Management Transparency at the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve
The Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve (RBBNM) is governed by the highest national and international quality standards. At the national level, the area has pursued certifications such as the Tourism Sustainability Certificate (CST), while at the international level it is currently a candidate for the IUCN Green List. Both certifications promote compliance with best practices aimed at ensuring transparency, proper communication of information to different stakeholders, and the implementation of clear procedures for addressing complaints, inquiries, and other matters related to management.
For the RBBNM, it is essential to share its work and ensure that institutional information is communicated accurately, accessibly, and in a timely manner. In this space, the plans, guidelines, and management tools that govern the Protected Wildlife Area are made available, facilitating understanding of its operations and promoting responsible, participatory management aligned with conservation standards.
